This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.105(b).

This requirement is advertised as COMPETITIVE. The Naval Air Warfare Center - Weapons Division (NAWCWD) is issuing solicitation number, N6893620Q0339, as a small-business set aside, request for quote (RFQ) for parts to upgrade its high performance computing (HPC) cluster computer to further the support of executing simulation and numerical analysis efforts.

A Brand Name Justification and Approval (J&A) was approved on 27 August 2020 in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Accordingly, pursuant to FAR 11.105(a)(1), the particular brand name, product, or feature is essential to the Government’s requirements, and market research indicates other companies’ similar products, or products lacking the particular feature, do not meet, or cannot be modified to meet, the agency’s needs.  The redacted J&A will be released with the solicitation.
