This is a notice of intent to go Sol Source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 for the following service: Vendor: St Joseph the Worker CorporationInternship Program7528 N Fenwick AvePortland, OR 97217-5514 This program implements the Secretary of the Interior's initiative to increase youth employment opportunities, and fill an operational need within the Assistant Regional Director Ecological Services' Office. This program provides a unique opportunity to contract with a private inner-city school (De La Salle North High School) that provides students with an education while requiring that they are employed one day per week in a Corporate Internship Program. Four students will work one day per week at the USFWS Regional Office, Portland, Oregon. The work provided by the team of students equates to one FTE. At this time, there are no high schools in the local area which have an equivalent program to meet this need. This Corporate Internship Program fits within the parameters of the DOl Secretary's Youth in the Great Outdoors Initiative to employ, educate, and engage young people from all backgrounds in exploring, connecting with and preserving America's natural and cultural heritage.
