TITLE: F3T0CP4155AQ01, Sole Source Acquisition for HIPATH 4000 SYSTEM maintenance and support, 3 - year warranty provide 24/7 warranty support for the equipment items associated with the HIPATH 4000 System for Seymour Johnson, AFB. Qty : 3 Years

The 4th Contracting Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC intends to award a sole source purchase order to Unify INC(formerly Siemens Enterprise Communications). Required service is a non-personnel service to provide 24/7 warranty support for the equipment items that are associated with the HIPATH 4000 system on Seymour Johnson, AFB. The service shall include 4 hour on-site major incident response, and 24 hour minor incident response.   The items per location to be covered under the warranty agreement for one year.  The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein.  Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn is responsible to the Government.

This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by (FAR) 6.302-1(c) Application for Brand Name Descriptions.. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. The closing date for this synopsis is 30 June 14 at 1600 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. The anticipated award date is 9 July 2014.   

APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY:  Request to award this requirement to only one responsible source due to the fact that UNIFY INC is the only manufacturer of the AutoScan 4 (already being used in-house).   This is the only company able to produce the service compatible with the system that we currently have in place.  Acquiring a different company would involve purchasing an new communications system as well as the service to maintain the new communications system.
