Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, responses to the University's prequalification documents for a Design Build contract are sought from prospective Design Builder bidders (hereafter “Design Builder” or “Entity” or “Bidder” or “Proposers”) for the following project: Prequalification of Prospective Bidders: The University has determined that bidders who submit bids on this project must be prequalified. Prequalified bidders will be required to have the following California contractor's license(s): The proposed design build project located at the corner of Hilgard and Lindbrook Avenues, shall supply residential units and parking for University faculty. The 25,732 GSF lot comprising two levels of underground parking and residential building(s) reaching a maximum height of 78 feet. Faculty shall be housed in mostly 2 bedroom-2 bathroom apartments. Each unit shall be approximately 1,000 square feet and have a living area, kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. Units shall be equipped with a refrigerator, oven, range, microwave oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer for in-unit laundry. The ground floor shall provide a lobby and mail facilities; residential support space shall include space for housekeeping, maintenance, communications and trash/recyclable/compostable functions. Vehicular access to the subterranean parking shall be via service driveway from Hilgard Avenue. The scope of work shall include the complete design and construction of the complex including site preparation; provision of a storm water capture system and connection to the city sewer main; provisions for domestic water, fire water, irrigation, sewer, gas, and electrical utilities from city services; and provision of telephone and communications connectivity including cabling, cable television, wireless networking, and an electronic card key security system. Site work shall include replacement of city owned sidewalks and street trees impacted by the work; and landscape and hardscape improvements.
