Sealed bids for construction of Highway 25 Elevated Water Tank will be received until February 29th, 2024 at 3:00 PM at the City of Millen City Hall at 919 College Avenue, Millen, Georgia 30442 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. Any bid received after said time and date will not be considered by the Owner. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The work shall consist of furnishing all products and equipment and performing all labor necessary to perform the following: The work to be done shall consist of providing all materials and performing all labor necessary to erect and place into service a 500,000 gallon elevated water storage tank, constructed of welded steel with torus bottom supported by six (6) column support legs. Work shall include miscellaneous site work, grading, yard piping, fencing, erosion and sediment control measures, foundation work, painting complete with appurtenances. The Scope of Work as described herein is defined as ¿utility contracting¿ in accordance with O.C.G.A 43-14-2(17) so the Contractor performing the work must provide proof of a valid license by the State of Georgia as a ¿Utility Contractor¿ and must also employ a ¿Utility Manager¿ certification holder who will have oversight of all the work. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier¿s check in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid.
