•1. This is a Sources Sought synopsis being conducted pursuant to FAR Part 10, Market Research. This is for planning purposes only and there is no solicitation available at this time.
•2. This is an initial step in the planning process for the delivery of a high volage transformer. The Government is contemplating award of a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order.
•3. The 377 MSG/PKB at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, seeks potential sources To provide one (1) brand name or equal to high voltage transformer with specifications listed below in paragraph D. to include FOB-Destination shipping to Kirtland AFB, NM 87117.
•4. Delivery Date: Preferred 30 Day After Receipt of Offer (ARO).
•5. The North American Industrial Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 335311, Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing, which has a small business size standard of 750 employees.
•1. All businesses capable of providing this product are invited to respond. Any information provided to the Government as a result of this sources sought synopsis is voluntary and the Government will not pay for any information submitted. Respondents are requested to submit capability packages electronically, as described below.

D. SALINE CHARATERISTIC:
The supplied to be acquired is a transformer to provide high voltage (20kV) from a 120V power source to replace the transformer in the Flash X-ray machine used in the Space Electronics Branch Radiation Effects Laboratory that failed. The SET Rad Lab has commitments to Government agencies to provide radiation effects testing using the Flash X-ray and is unable to do so until the transformer is replaced. The Flash X-ray dates to the 1960s. The electromagnetic products are uniquely manufactured for this outdated unit, which will require modifying an existing transformer with a unique set of windings. This replacement should provide the function and fit the container (form factor).
Must fit into an oil bath, be compatible with an oil bath, fit into the container, and provide current or voltage requirements.
