The U.S. Geological Survey, National Geospatial Programs Office has a requirement for high resolution ortho-rectified imagery over approximately 2500 square miles of the Albuquerque, New Mexico metropolitan region. The USGS has the opportunity to obtain all of this orthoimagery from the Mid-Region Council of Governments for 25% of the cost of the entire project because local governments, State of New Mexico, Federal, and other governmental entities are contributing to this project. This task will consist of two components, aerial imagery acquisition and digital orthophoto production. The two components will be collected to the following specifications: 1) data collected during leaf off season; 2) 6 inch resolution natural color ortho-rectified imagery; 3) UTM Zone 13 North with data tiles conforming to National Grid specifications; 4) 24 bit color (RGB); 5) meeting ASPRS Class 1 standards. The data delivery date is no later than 12/31/2010. All deliverable data and documentation shall be free from restrictions regarding use and distribution. Based on information available at this time, the government considers the item specified as a sole source from the Mid-Region Council of Governments, 809 Copper Avenue NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 and proposes to negotiate with that organization on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services and provide considerable cost sharing are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business June 9, 2010 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
