This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a requirement. 

The objective of this work is to perform analysis in the ABL NEL as well as data analyses and manuscript preparation from this data. Laboratory duties will include collection of biological meristics and tissues for chemical analysis to calculate condition and growth parameters including, proximate analyses, lipid content,  RNA/DNA tissue ratios, and fatty acid analyses profiles of herring collected in PWS and  for all forage fish  collected in the Arctic near Barrow, Alaska for the SHELFZ  project. Data analyses on all fish include:  summary of biological and catch information correlated to bioenergetic chemical analyses for herring; quality assurance information for proximate analysis calculation for herring and Arctic forage fish; author summary reports or manuscripts regarding bioenergetic data for herring and insure that all proximate analyses and RNA/DNA data involved in these projects are properly formatted and submitted into the RECA lipid database.

Raw analysis data will need to be processed and appropriate quality control protocols applied in preparation for reporting to journals and funding sources.   See attached statement of work for complete description of services.

This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
