The Health and Human Services (HHS), Phoenix Area Indian Health Service (PAIHS), Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC), located in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a Professional Healthcare Medical Group who can provide Hematology/Oncology Services. PIMC is a general medical and surgical hospital which provides comprehensive health services primarily to Arizona Indians and Alaskan Natives. PIMC serves as a referral hospital for difficult and complex cases from other hospitals and health centers located throughout the PAIHS. It also serves as the primary health facility for a large number of urban Indians. The Contractor shall provide medically necessary Hematology/Oncology Services for the Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC), located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Contractor shall provide Hematology/Oncology Specialists, who can fully provide Hematology/Oncology services to patients within the specifications of the Scope of Work, within the standards of practice, and in accordance to The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Health Promotion/Disease Prevention (HPDP) requirements, and PIMC policies. The Contractor is required to be fully credentialed/privileged after award of the contract and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in hematology and/or oncology. Major Duties: The Professional Healthcare Medical Group shall provide routine hematology/oncology consultation coverage at PIMC for at least eight hours weekly for 48 to 52 weeks of the year. The Contractor shall provide consultation that will cover both the diagnostic and therapeutic evaluation and management of patients with cancer and blood disorders. The Contractor shall see both new patients and follow-up patients. There should be close attention to providing continuity of care for these patients. The Contractor shall provide 24/7/365 (on call) coverage for emergency consultation within two (2) hours by phone or other means to assess a problem or to assist in stabilizing or arranging transfer of a patient to a facility where hematology and oncology emergencies can be adequately stabilized and treated. Emergent hematology/oncology consultation will cover both the diagnostic and therapeutic evaluation and management of patients with cancer and blood disorders. The Contractor shall review and recommend improvements when needed in the policy and procedures that provide for the organization scheduling and general practice of the oncology clinic. The Contractor shall review and recommend improvements when needed in the policy and procedures that provide for the provision of oncology chemotherapy delivered at PIMC.
