Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract are invited from prequalified Prime Contractors for the following work: Contractor shall replace the existing HVAC equipment (water source heat pumps and controls) with new water source heat pumps with controls and provide wall protection in student rooms at Hedrick Summit as specified in the plans and specifications. Hedrick Summit is an undergraduate student residential high-rise facility located in the northwest quadrant of the UCLA campus. The facility includes 521 student rooms and 3 faculty apartments on 9 total levels; with additional community support space, maintenance and mechanical space and housekeeping on the ground level. The Work will be divided into two phases: Phase 0 (preparation of submittals, receipt of University's approval, and procurement of applicable equipment) and Phase 1 (all remaining Work of the project including actual on-site construction Work). The University currently anticipates the on-site construction period (Phase 1) to begin no sooner than June 19, 2023 and to be completed no later than August 31, 2023. The work will be performed when the building is unoccupied, during Summer 2023.
