1.0          INTRODUCTION

The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division, Range Systems Department, (RS 21) requires a hardware maintenance agreement and computer hard drives used on the Idealstor Model BA4U-8E Backup Appliance for the Combined Tactical Training Range's (CTTR) Information Management System.

2.0          BACKGROUND

The CTTR Information Management System is connected to NMCI network within a facility at NSWC Corona, CA. and RS21 has a requirement to manage CTTR contract data and ensure that disaster recovery systems and procedures are in place to preserve all data within the system.  In order to meet this requirement, NSWC Corona, RS21 requires that the backup system is supportable in the event of hardware failure and is also capable of storing the large amounts of data in an industry recognized Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) format to store the same data in different places for an additional layer of data integrity.  The maintenance support contract and hard drive specifications are included in the specifications.

The Idealstor Backup Appliance was purchased under N63394-12-P-5108 and this procurement ensures that the device is covered for ongoing maintenance after original warranty expiration.

3.1 The maintenance agreement shall apply to the appliance only and hard drives will not be covered.

3.2 Maintenance agreement shall cover diagnostic support to identify the source of problem and shipment of replacement parts or replacement product appliance. 

3.3 Parts or replacement appliance shall be shipped within two days of Return Material Authorization (RMA).

3.4 The Period of Performance of the maintenance agreement shall be one year from date of this contract and renewable upon its anniversary.
