The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is requesting bids for the reforestation of up to 20.9 acres at Happy Valley Wildlife Management Area (WMA) to begin in the spring of 2022. The work requested is part of the ongoing Young Forest Initiative administered by the DEC Division of Fish and Wildlife. This project aims to enhance softwood young forest habitat for the benefit of snowshoe hare and other young forest dependent species. Happy Valley WMA is located in the Town of Albion, Oswego County, New York. Seedlings will be hand-planted on a seven-foot by seven-foot (7’x7’) spacing throughout the reforestation areas.
