Statement of Purpose: The Minnesota Veterans Home – Minneapolis is looking to establish an ongoing sole-source contract through Handicare Medical to purchase Sling Lifts from Handicare Medical on an as-needed basis. The use of Lifts and Slings is essential to the safety and quality of care for veterans. Product Specifications and Scope: • Provides support around the hips and sacral area and under the thighs up to the shoulders with optional head support. • Generous lateral trunk support. • Multiple loops and strap options can accommodate various seated and semi-reclined positions. • Divided leg supports can be applied and removed in a seated or supine position. • Leg straps can be applied in various positions for different levels of support. • Built-in caregiver handles on each side add an additional level of control when moving and transferring user. Strong and stable, comes in two weight options 450lbs/205kg and 600lbs/270kg. • Lightweight aluminum construction – easy to maneuver. • Mast is adjustable to three height positions – broad lifting range. • Height-adjustable handlebars. • Stable aluminum sling bar with reliable safety latches. • Standard width sling bar – suitable for most users and situations. • Available with extra-wide sling bar for patients with larger frames. • Available with regular height or low legs for use with lower beds. • Encapsulated twin casters – easy rolling and maintenance-free. • Special versions with low legs feature double front casters with a diameter of 1.4 in/35 mm. • Electrical emergency stop button is readily available on the control.
