This requirment is on the Fortine Ranger District of the Kootenai National forest. It consists of purning of Wester White Pine (WWP), slash treatement, and related work inorder to help prevent and reduce blister rust infection. This requirment consists of approximalty 7 units and a total of about 135 acres. Pruning unit boundaries are obvious on the ground features (clear-cut unit that has become fully stocked with sapling size or smaller trees to cut or uncut stands of mature trees, roads, etc.) and will not be flagged. All pruning shall be performed with hand pruners or lopping shears only. No pruning by chainsaws will be allowed. The period of performance is expected to begin in Jun 2010 and end in Sept 2010.
