Included in the contract are most of the necessary parts and labor to effectively diagnose, repair, and replace essential operating components of the instrument, software updates, and one preventative maintenance service visit per year.
The USGS Geology, Geophysics, and Geochemistry Science Center maintains and operates a Nu Plasm 2 MC-ICP-MS in the High Resolution Laboratory, Building 20, Denver Federal Center. The instrument provides critical isotope ratio research data for USGS research efforts and other Federal, State and University collaborations. The instrument also provide data for collaborators such as EPA, NASA, DOJ, DOE, BLM, and DHS and non-Federal entities such as Colorado School of Mines, University of Tennessee, and others.
