The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for Initial and Recurrent Pilot Qualification Training on the Gulfstream G500 (GVII Type Rating) using a Full Flight Simulator. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform the industry of the basis of the Federal Aviation Administrationââ¬â¢s (FAA) decision to extend a contract with a selected source via single source procedures.
The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with FlightSafety International, Flushing, NY 11371. At this time, it appears FlightSafety International is the only vendor to train on the Gulfstream G500. FlightSafety International is the only FAA approved training program and operates the only Full Flight Simulator for this aircraft in accordance with (14 CFR) Part 61.
The principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 611512 Flight Training, with a size standard of $27.5 million.
