Army Materiel Command (AMC) is on the front lines of innovation by developing, integrating, and sustaining unique science, technology, and engineering solutions in support of the warfighter.  AMC's acquisition and sustainment professionals must ensure appropriate technical data and license rights to Intellectual Property (IP) is available to ensure the most efficient and effective sustainment strategy.

The AMC, in concert with the Army Contracting Command, submits this Special Notice to industry for distribution of the attached document entitled, "Guide to Data Item Descriptions, Contract Data Requirements lists and Standard Defense Acquisition Regulation  Supplement Clauses"  The AMC and ACC developed this guidance as a means to assist all Life Cycle Management Commands (LCMCs), Engineering Centers, and AMC Contracting Activities.  This guide is provided to facilitate acquiring data, software and data rights to support competitive procurements and organic  or competitive sustainment of major weapon system other systems.
