The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, seedling trays, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, facilities, and supplies necessary to provide nursery services to grow containerized pine seedlings as follows: Shortleaf, Longleaf, and Loblolly Pine seedlings for the National Forests in Alabama, Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana, National Forests in Texas, and the Ouachita and Ozark/St. Francis National Forests in Arkansas; The National Forests in Mississippi and Florida will receive only Longleaf Pine seedlings.
The USDA-Forest Service has a need for nursery services to grow containerized Shortleaf, Longleaf, and Loblolly Pines seedlings along with containerized wiregrass. Seedlings and grass will be supplied to Forests throughout the Southern Region located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. The government expects to award and firm-fixed price, indefinite quantity contract for a Base Year with four Option Year periods. The Government will furnish enough seed to grow the desired number of seedlings based on current germination test results. Shipment of seedlings may begin as early as October 1 continuing through December 15 of each year of the contract. Seedling inventory and inspection may begin as early as April 1.
