The new instrument is needed to replace an outdated instrument, interface with the current Agilent Headspace Unit, while providing for additional analytical capabilities through the use of the Gerstel MPS2 autosampler. The existing Agilent Headspace Unit is needed for analytical continuity of validated laboratory methods. The Gerstel MPS2 autosampler will provide for additional capabilities and will also be consistent with other autosamplers already present in the laboratory.
As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps. We will issue only one solicitation to Gerstel Inc. However, all responsible sources that believe they can meet this requirement may submit their capabilities/qualifications statement to provide a replacement unit for the existing Agilent 6890 Gas Chromatograph with Mass Spectrometer Detector and Agilent Headspace to [email protected], Attention GHuffman-WC. Reference the Special Notice number SS-TTB-11-0077 in the subject line. The Government will only consider responses received by September 6, 2011 by 2:00pm ET.
A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement
