This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. NGA intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and 13. The North American Industry Classification system (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 511210 with a small business size standard of $25M.

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) requires 125 GeoExpress Maintenance (Part # 101-80U-7R), 3 GeoExpress Maintenance Solaris (Part # 104-80U-7R), 2 GeoExpress Express Server Maintenance (Part # 301-023-7R), 14 GeoExpress Maintenance (Part # 101-80U-7R). The period of performance for software maintenance is set to begin on 01 April 2011 through 31 March 2012. The proprietary LizardTech GeoExpress software is an image editing application which is used to create outputs in the Mr.SID and JPEG 2000 compression formats. This software provides digital data support to the Data Managers in theater that are directly supporting the warfighter. Extending the maintenance service on these software products will preserve the value of NGA's investment in the software by enabling continued access to technical support, security updates, and upgrades to the software. GeoExpress maintenance meets requirements of NGA at this time. Another brand of maintenance would not allow NGA to seamlessly interact with and support our many partners.

The statutory authority for this acquisition is Section 4202 of the Clinger Cohen Act of 1996 and FAR 6.3.
