The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Fort Keogh Livestock and Range Research Laboratory, Miles City, Montana, intends to enter into a sole source contract with Illumina, Inc., San Diego, California, for the purchase of Infinium Bovine SNP50 Illumina Genotyping BeadChip Kits to be used with a Government-owned Illumina BeadStation 500 system. They are required to fulfill research to characterize the genome of Line 1 Hereford cattle. This is research closely aligned with ongoing research being conducted by collaborators using this technology through a Specific Cooperative Agreement with Illumina at the USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center, Clay Center, Nebraska as well as USDA, Agricultural Research Service laboratories located in Beltsville, Maryland.
