Separate sealed bids will be received at the Geneva CSD Central Services, at 335 Gambee Road, Geneva, New York 14456 until 11:30 A.M., local time on Wednesday March 1, 2023, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Bus Drivers Lounge. A Bidder, making the deposit required for the Bidding Documents, submitting a Proposal accompanied by a certified check or other security in accordance with the requirements contained in the plans and specifications and public advertisement for bids and if the copy of the plans and specifications used by such Bidder, other than the successful Bidder is returned in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the contract covered by such plans and specifications, or rejection of the Bid, the full amount of such deposit for one copy of the plans and specifications shall be returned to such Bidder, including the successful Bidder. Partial reimbursement, in an amount equal to the full amount of such deposit for one set of plans and specifications per unsuccessful bidder or non-bidder less the actual cost of reproduction of the plans and specifications, shall be made for the return of all other copies of the plans and specifications in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the contract or the rejection of the bids covered by such plans and specifications. Bidders may also opt to receive their bidding documents on CD in .PDF format, for a non-refundable fee of ($50.00), payable to Rotolite Elliott Corporation. Syracuse Builders Exchange, 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206 A pre-bid conference for the Project will be conducted by the Construction Manager on Wednesday February 15th, 2023, at 3:30 PM, at the Geneva Middle School Library, on 101 Carter Road, Geneva, NY 14465; to provide bidders with an important informational session about the project and its working requirements. A walk-through of each school building will follow the pre-bid conference, for those bidders who may request it. The pre-bid conference will be for all contracts, and it is strongly recommended that all potential bidders attend. Attention of the Bidder is particularly called to the Owner’s sales tax exemption, the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. In addition, the Bidding Documents for this project contain detailed requirements for the qualification of Bidders. These include, among other things, rigid bonding and insurance requirements, financial statements, bank references, lists of lawsuits, arbitrations or other proceedings in which the Bidder has been named as a party, a statement of surety’s intent to issue Performance and Payment Bonds, and a description of other projects of similar size and scope completed by the Bidder. Bids shall be prepared as set forth in “INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS”, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing on its face the name and address of the Bidder and the title of the Work to which the bid enclosed relates. Each Bidder shall deposit with its bid, security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the “INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.” No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual bid opening. The Board of Education reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in or to reject any or all bids. The Owner further reserves its right to disqualify Bidders for any material failure to comply with the“INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS”.
