The principal objective of this contract is to provide up to 400 hours of genetics laboratory support (with an option for up to an additional 400 hours if required) for the genetic stock composition analysis of sockeye, chum, and Chinook salmon and population structure of forage fish and groundfish. The National Marine Fisheries Service, Auke Bay Laboratory (ABL) is located near Juneau, AK. The ABL conducts many research activities including identifying and separating mixed stocks of fishes to support international treaties and to support ecosystem research in waters of the Gulf of Alaska and Bering Sea.
