USDA, ARS has a requirement for a gas permeability tester to assure the quality or confirm the specification of packaging materials used in research. This equipment is used to measure polymeric film permeability for poultry meat packages. The specifications for this tester are 1. Permeability or transmission rate of oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, helium and argon across packaging films can be determined. 2. One chamber system 3. The test range for gas transmission rates should be 0.1 - 90,000 mL/M2.24h.atm 4.Operate temperature range: ambient to 40oC. 5. Sample/specimen size: Less than 100 cm2 6. Resolution: 0.1 Pa or 0.1 mL/M2.24h.atm 7. Software needed to print, store and/or process data. Faxed responses are acceptable. The government anticipates award of a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer is conforming to the specifications that will be most advantageous to the Government per FAR 13.106-2. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is September 3rd, 2009.
