 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.  The solicitation no. AG-81J8-S-14-0624 is issued for a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-73. The NAICS code is 334516.  The USDA, ARS, Arid-Land Agricultural Research Center requires a Gamma Spectroscopy System. The spectrometer will consist of three components: 1) High Purity Germanium detector (the spectrometer central part); 2) Digital Signal Analyzer (an electronic signal processing unit); 3) lead shield (an enclosure that protects the detector from natural background radiation). Installation and on-site technical support are required. The proposed purchase is an expansion of an existing gamma spectrometry system currently operating at the facility and consist of three spectrometers (Germanium detectors, signal analyzers, and lead shields). Spectrometer control and data analysis is conducted by Genie 2000 software. The new detector and supporting electronics shall be identical to one of the detectors currently operated (BE5030). Total components: Broad Energy Germanium Detector BE5030-DET Dewar D-30 C-30 RTV Collar Assembly 7500SL-R-RDC-4 CH-PLAN-S-6 ENDC-400-CC 2002CSL CFA-2002C-BE-RCP-CABLE-10, Lead Shield (747), Split Plug (747-3), Tall Table (to support detector enclosure (Table (745-5)), Digital Signal analyzer (Lynx-MCA), Installation, On Site Technical Support. Delivery to the USDA, ARS, Arid Land Agricultural Research Center, 2000 East Allen Road, Tucson, AZ 85719-1596.
