The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Federal Resources Supply Co., a small business in Stevensville, MD, under Other Than Full and Open Competition by the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, relative to acquiring one (1) Canberra Gamma Spectroscopy System. A Sources Sought Notice was posted during the period 23 Mar 2012 through 3 Apr 2012 which resulted in the identification of just one (1) small business reseller. This is a sole source requirement as the spectroscopy software must utilize existing Canberra gamma software packages and allow for complete control of existing Canberra acquisition interface and portable interface modules. A firm fixed-price purchase order will be issued on or about 6 July 2012 with a 90-120 delivery period. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.
