Description of use for lab:
The addition of the GaAsP Detector to our existing A1R point scanning confocal microscope will greatly improve the sensitivity and performance of our confocal microscope. Given that the slice electrophysiology configuration requires specific water dipping objectives with lower numerical apertures than typically used in confocal, the enhanced sensitivity of the GaAsP detectors are essential to maximize the use of the confocal microscope in acute brain slices. This upgrade will significantly improve the exposure, dwell time and signal to noise ratio.

The addition of the piezo nosepiece will integrate into the existing FN1-A1R hardware and NIS Elements and will allow us to take full advantage of the speed of our existing resonance scanner.
