STATEMENT OF WORKCATHOLIC FAITH COMMUNITY
SONG LEADER/CANTOR

I. GENERAL
A. This position supports the Liturgical components of the Catholic Faith Community
B. The Catholic Faith Community Song Leader/Cantor (hereafter called âThe Contractorâ) will be responsible for assisting and supporting the choir and congregation for all Rehearsals and Liturgical Celebrations specified in Section IV
C. The Contractor will conform to Official Teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and Liturgical Rites
II. QUALIFICATIONS
A. Proficiency in singing for Liturgical Celebrations
B. Ability to assist in leading choir and congregational singing
C. Ability to sing designated Liturgical solos
D. Ability to work with the Catholic Music Director in preparing appropriate music according to the Liturgical Calendar
E. Have a thorough knowledge of the Liturgical Theology and the Rites of the Roman Catholic Church
III. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Coordinate with the Catholic Music Director and Faith Community Liturgical/Music Coordinator for all Liturgical Celebrations
B. Support choir, congregational, and worship singing specified in Section IV
C. Attend weekly scheduled choir rehearsals and warm-ups sessions prior to any Liturgical Celebrations
D. Assist with introducing new music to the congregation
E. Ensure copyright laws are followed
F. Maintain professional competency
IV. CALL/TASK ORDER
Each call/task order shall be issued on a monthly basis. Each call consist of monthly services to include, weekly practices and Sunday services.
A. 52 Sunday Masses with nominal weekly rehearsals
B. 1 New Yearâs Day Mass
C. 1 Ash Wednesday Mass
D. 1 Holy Thursday Mass
E. 1 Good Friday Service
F. 1 Easter Vigil Mass
G. 1 Assumption Mass
H. 1 All Saintâs Day Mass
I. 1 Immaculate Conception Mass
J. 1 Christmas Eve Mass
K. 1 Confirmation Mass
L. Additional services maybe necessary and shall be issued on a separate call/task order
