The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole source, Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to Thales USA, Inc. of Overland Park, Kansas for the procurement of FY24-26 Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) ) requirements. The total estimated quantity required for this procurement is 45 TACAN AN/URN-32 Upgrade Kits, 45 URN-32 Remote Control Status Unit (RCSU) Upgrade Kits, 16 AN/URN-33 Beacon Kits, 62 OE-4691 Antenna Systems, 168 High Power Amplifier (HPA) Assemblies, 42 Low Power Amplifier (LPA) Assemblies, 42 Remote Monitor Maintenance Control (RMMC) Kits and associated technical data. The quantities listed above are approximations. Thales USA, Inc. is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the TACAN AN/URN-32 and AN/URN-33, and as such, is the only firm that can provide these supplies and services within the required timeframe.
This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements".
