This is a NOTICE OF INTENT for the Government to award Sole Source to Echostar Communications, 9601 S Meridian Blvd., Englewood, CO 80112-5905. This sole source is in accordance with authority citations 10 USC 2304(c)(1), 41 USC 253(c)(1), and Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 6.302-1a(2)(iii). Echostar is considered the only responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Echostar is the owner of the existing eqiupment, and complete replacement of the hardware would not be cost beneficial. Additionally, the downtime associated with the replacement would be considered a liability that would inconveniance the government. The required service is to provide satellite television service to base units and select tenants. This service will be provided to 460 SCS/SCXI, Buckley AFB, CO. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE.
