FedBiz Synopsis for F414 Kit Procurement
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Contracts Department, Patuxent River, MD in support of NAVAIR 4.4, Propulsion and Power, intends to negotiate a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement FA8122-14-G-0001 on a sole source basis with General Electric, 1000 Western Ave, Lynn, MA 01902 for material and parts (372 Kits) to introduce an oil supply tube to be welded to the front frame. The current brazed oil tube is cracking in service resulting engine removals for oil leaks. The Government intends to procure under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1), FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. General Electric is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only contractor with the requisite knowledge and experience of the current F414 engine required for this effort. Delivery is required within 12 months of the date of order. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS; however, responsible interested parties may submit information in which they can identify interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Responses must be received by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on 03 April 2015. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is: 336412-Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing.
