This is a sources sought synopsis seeking information of potential vendors (nationwide) that have an interest in submitting a proposal for the following product:
Optos Daytona Ultra-Wide Field for use in fundus photography
Or Equal Product
We are requesting that all interested and qualified firms respond to this sources sought notice with a capability statement similar to your marketing package used in the everyday course of doing business. Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice. The Government will utilize the following information in determining acquisition strategy:
(1) Specify if your company is uniquely capable and qualified to provide this type of product. The minimum salient characteristics for an "or equal" product are as follows:
Equipment needs to be able to take retinal images on pupils smaller than standard 6mm
Should be able to take fundus photos without mydriatics (dilation drops)
Equipment needs to be able to fit on a table top and not a stand-alone unit
Images should be easily accessible for transport and documentation for monitoring of ocular health
Equipment should weigh less than 50 pounds for easy movement as needed for maintenance
Power voltage should be less than 900W maximum
(2) A statement of your current business size status under the NAICS code 339115 Ophthalmic Goods Manufacturing. In your response, also indicate whether you are a HUBZone small business concern, service- disabled veteran-owned small business firm, 8(a) contractor, small business firm, women-owned small business firm, or large business firm.

This Sources Sought is an advance notice for information and planning purposes only and is not a solicitation. In order to receive an award from any resultant solicitation, should one be issued, the successful offeror must be registered and active in System for Award Management (SAM). The SAM website is: https://www.sam.gov/. The information/capability statement must be received by the POC no later than 17 May 2018. This sources sought notice should not be construed in any manner to be an obligation to issue a contract, or result in any claim for reimbursement of costs for any effort you expend in responding to this request.
