THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS / SOLICITATION (Request for Quote) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) intends to solicit and negotiate with Thermo Electron North America, LLC on a sole source basis for one (1) Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrometer System. The System will include the spectrometer, control software, and an interface module and must have the capability for hyphenated techniques including infrared microscopy/infrared spectroscopy and gas chromatography/infrared spectroscopy. A Firm Fixed Price contract is anticipated.
A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
