Subject:  Sources Sought # LDQ002101 - Forensic Laser System

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking sources, to include but not limited to small businesses, capable of providing the following stand alone green laser system used for latent prints and evidence detection with the required specifications:

• 532 nm wavelength
• Minimum of 8 Watt Power
• Minimum bandwidth of 0.5
• Minimum beam diameter of 15 cm
• Uniform speckle free beam quality
• Less than 30 second start up time
• Trigger to turn on/off laser on hand piece
• Standard armored fiber optic cable at least 3 meters long
• Battery that lasts at least 90 minutes
• Power cord to be included
• Portability of unit, unit to weigh no more than 50 pounds with applicable attachments
• Shutter opening and closing available on headpiece and unit
• Packaged in appropriate travel/mailable case
• Air cooled laser system

*    Special note - total cost shall include at a minimum 1 year warranty

 CONTEMPLATED PROCUREMENT:

The Government contemplates award of a fixed price contract for two (2) forensic laser systems.

Respondents will not be notified of the result of the review.

HOW TO RESPOND:

The Government would like to know which firms can provide the requested equipment for this contemplated requirement by identifying themselves and responding to this Sources Sought document.  The Government requests the following information:

1.   Company name and business size.

2.    Address whether your company has a GSA Schedule and if they are capable of providing these items on schedule.  If able to provide the services on schedule, what schedule and SIN.

3.  Any other comments, concerns, and/or questions relating to the contemplated equipment.
