The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award, a modification to extend the ordering period on contracts W912BU-11-D-0011, W912BU-11-D-0012, and W912BU-11-D-0013 with Berger Cummins Joint Venture, IAP Worldwide Services, and Kellogg Brown & Root Services, Inc. in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clause 52.217-8, entitled Option to Extend Services.
The action is pursuant to 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The current contracts to supply generators and power operation for prime power operations in support of any location within the Afghan Theatre of Operations. The purpose of the modification is to extend the ordering period from 30 September 2016 - 29 March 2016, in order to ensure the continuation of services. The current ordering period ends 29 September 2016. Award to any source other than BCJV, IAP, and KBR would result in unacceptable delays and substantial costs that are considered to be well beyond any cost savings that might be achieved through competition. This action will be awarded via a modification to the existing contract in accordance with FAR 52.217-8. Under the authority authorized by FAR 6.302-1, this action is directed towards BCJV, IAP, and KBR.
