As posted in the Source Sought Synopsis HSCG40-13-S-00022, entitled; “FME Parts” dated 03/08/2013, the U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, Long Range Enforcer (LRE) Product Line, will be issuing a solicitation for the purchase of numerous Fairbanks Morse Diesel Engine (FME) parts and part kits to be used in support of the opposed piston main diesel engines installed aboard Coast Guard 378’ High Endurance Cutter’s (WHEC) (FME Model 38TD 8-1/8, 12 Cyl 3600 hp) and 140’ Bay Class Icebreaking Tug’s (WTGB) (FME Model 38D 8-1/8, 8 Cyl 1426 hp). It is anticipated that requirements contract with firm fixed delivery orders, containing one (1) base year and four (4) option Years will be awarded using the procedures outlined in FAR Part 15.101-2. It is the Government’s intent to solicit this requirement under NAICS 336611. This requirement must be completed utilizing only genuine FME parts from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Remanufactured or Aftermarket parts are not acceptable. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps on or about May 15, 2013. This date is estimated at best, and it is the contractor’s responsibility to monitor FedBizOpps on a regular basis for the solicitation and any amendments.
