The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with BMG LABTECH INC, Durham, NC 27703, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for one (1) each of the following item: 1) Part Number 415-101; Description - FLUOstar Omega is a multi functional plate reader with which a variety of biochemical assays can be performed with great accuracy, in a high-throughput format, minimal use of reagents, and in multiple measurement modes. One can perform nucleic acid and protein quantitation, ELISAs, metabolite quantitation, fluorescent and luminescent kinetic assays. A few of the most important aspects of the FLUOstar Optima microplate reader that set it apart from other manufacturers are listed below. Most notable is the capability to equip the unit with injectors, perform flash and glow luminescence measurements, well-scanning, separate luminescence measuring circuit, and the ability to perform time-resolved assays. *Four measurement principles: fluorescence, time resolved fluorescence, visible and low UV absorbance, glow luminescence (and flash luminescence with injectors) * The FLUOstar OMEGA is the ONLY multifunction microplate reader in the world with a complete UV/vis spectrometer (220-850nm) that can provide you with a full absorbance spectrum at 1nm resolution in under one second per well. No other multifunction microplate reader in the world has this technology. *Reads 6-384 well plates - user definable plate formats, 1536 well plate reading option * Well scanning mode with up to 100 points per well, high resolution display, and “Point Picker” mode * Can collect up to 50 data points per second for fast kinetic assays, calcium screens, cell- based assays* Read 8 multichromatic filter pairs per plate for FRET and BRET capability, dual emission possible as well* Top/bottom reading in all measurement modes, programmable shaking - linear, orbital, figure eight * Reagent injectors dispense 5 - 350 uL in 0.5 uL increments, variable volumes per well, 384 well injection. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Purchasing Agent at the address stated above.
