The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) is the Nation's federal health sciences university and is committed to excellence in military medicine and public health during peace and war. USU has a requirement for one (1) flow cytometer. The requested equipment will be used to research radiation injury results in changes to cell populations in fluid and tissues in vivo, as well as in cells in culture.

Required Specifications:

Interested offerors responding to this RFI, must provide information on whether they could quote a product that meets the following required specifications.

Required Specifications:
1 A minimum of three (3) lasers around: 405, 488 and 640 nm.
2 Able to accommodate additional lasers in the future.
3 Several photo-multiplier tubes or the equivalent to allow eight colors to be analyzed simultaneously.
4 Emission optics that allow filters to be switched if needed to increase flexibility.
5 A data acquisition rate that can allow at least 50,000 events/second.
6 Adjustable flow rates (low, medium, high).
7 Forward and side scatter resolutions that will resolve lymphocytes, monocytes, and granulocytes.
8 Forward and side scatter sensitivity that will allow separation of fixed platelets from noise.
9 A high throughput option that will allows samples to be analyzed from a 96 well plate.
10 A Windows operating system that is Windows 7 or above. Not Windows XP.
11 A small foot print to accommodate the identified space. The equipment should be no more than 24x24x24 in.
12 120V with no unique electrical requirements.
