The purpose of modificaiton 001 is to provide a question and response regarding specification 3:

Specification 3 - The borated sheets shall have a thickness that does not exceed 0.080" +/-0.040" (2.0mm +/_ 1.0mm) and can be bent onto a radius of 0.5" (12.7mm) or less without crackling, even at the end of its radiation exposure lifetime.  (Stronger condiseration will be given to minimal thickness variations).

Q: Is the specification intended to say that the average thickness is to be 0.080", with variations of +/-0.0040 is ok so as long as the average is met?

A:  Taking the average and keeping that at >2.0mm
