PROJECT OVERVIEW The Village of Westmont, Illinois is seeking to retain the services of a qualified and experienced professional services team to perform an existing building condition evaluation, space needs analysis, and alternatives analysis for major renovation, addition or construction of a new building. VILLAGE CONTACT Virgil Viscuso, Fleet/Facilities Supervisor [email protected] 630-981-6286 GENERAL INFORMATION The Village of Westmont is soliciting proposals from a qualified and experienced consultant team to perform an existing building condition evaluation, space needs analysis, alternatives analysis for major renovation, addition or construction of new building; preparation of costs estimates for various options. The current Fire Department Headquarters building, located at 6015 S Cass Ave, was originally constructed in 1991. It consists of a basement and first floor, for a total of 14,884 square feet. In 2021, the Village engaged a firm to perform a facilities inspection and prepare a brief report outlining recommended repair to the existing building, concept level drawings for an addition and new construction, as well as costs estimates and other considerations for these options. The Village currently has a part-time fire department with 14 personnel on shift at any given time. The Village is currently engaged in a staffing study to evaluate part-time staffing levels, a shift to a full-time fire department, as well as future staffing projections. The Fire Department headquarters building must accommodate sleeping/living quarters for both part-time and full-time scenarios as well as future growth. The building must also account for an increased number of female firefighters and other personnel. Finally, the building must provide office space for the chief, two deputy chiefs, seven fire prevention members,and administrative staff as well as exercise areas, training room, Fire Chiefs conference room, storage rooms and community space. The Village now seeks to move forward with major repairs/renovations to the existing building or construction of a new building to meet the needs of the Village of Westmont Fire Department today and into the future.
