The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for fifteen (15) 10kg containers of Accura 60 resin. The NAICS code is 326199 and the business size is 750 (# of employees).

The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to 3D Systems. The proposed action is for fifteen (15) 10kg containers of Accura 60 resin, which is used to produce prototype parts through a Stereolithography machine (SLA). Accura 60 is necessary to develop hardware prototypes that support ongoing research, development, testing and evaluation at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD). The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-l (a) (2) (ii) (B). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: 3D Systems is the sole manufacturer of Accura 60 resin, which is used for the following Navy projects: Ohio Replacement Project, VLTA Project, and on-site support for various Codes throughout NAVSEA. NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to 3D Systems using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than 14 June 2017. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by 14 June 2017, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
