The purpose of this procurement is to acquire The Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast DX, which is the only real-0time thermal cycler that the technicians in Arua, Uganda are trained to use for the detection of Yersinia pestis in human diagnostic samples. This same instrument is currently in use at The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) It is imperative that results are compared from the same instrument being used in two separate locations, to protect the integrity of those results and maintain continuity.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contract Specialist on or before 10:00 AM EST on December 31, 2018. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. All vendors/prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to an award of a federal contract. Responses received may be considered for future procurements. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the CDC will proceed to sole source this requirement to Africa Biosystems LTD.
The anticipated date of award is December 31, 2018.
