This is a presolicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 5.207, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. A Solicitation number FA3016-13-R-0007 is intended to be issued as a request for proposal (RFP) on http://www.fbo.gov on or about 1 March 2013 with an anticipating closing date of 22 March 2013. The exact dates will be included in the solicitation when posted. This requirement is being solicited as a 100% Small Business Set Aside, with NAICS Code 115210, Support Activities for Animal Production, with a size standard of $7,000,000. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The government contemplates award of a Firm Fixed-Price contract to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the requirements of the solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be provided. Once the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon interested parties to review this site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents. This presolicitation is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the United States Air Force. The Government is NOT liable for any costs and/or activity associated with providing a response to this announcement. The Contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary to provide farrier services at the Fort Sam Houston Caisson Section in a manner that will ensure the continued hoof health of the caisson horse herd. All tasks performed shall be in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. CLIN STRUCTURE: Base + Four (4) One-Year Option Periods. The anticipated performance period is 1 April 2013 through 31 March 2014 for the base period.
