The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) has a herd of approximately 10 horses and is seeking at least one firm to provide farrier services at the Mounted Unit barn in Golden Gate Park that will include, but not be limited to, (1) trimming and shoeing hooves, (2) responding to same day emergency calls for missing shoes or making shoe adjustments, (3) evaluating horses for SFPD procurement, (4) providing specialized tools and equipment to perform services, (5) recommending current trends in horseshoeing, and (6) working with SFPD veterinarian on proper shoeing orders. The City seeks responses from firms demonstrating successful experience in these areas.
