THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION, IT IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE

The United States Mint, Manufacturing Department, Washington, DC is seeking qualified vendors capable of fabricating and installing a hydraulic hubbing press capable of hubbing coinage dies at the United States Mint, Philadelphia. The vendor shall have the capability to design, manufacture and service new hubbing presses with the following:

A. Capacity: 2500, 1250 and 630 metric tons.

B. Range: Desired die sizes is 15 mm - 150 mm.

C. Mechanical Requirements:
1. PLC control
2. Table ejector.
3. Two hand push button operation.
4. Single stroke hubbing using automatic cycle.
5. Multiple hubbing forces within one hubbing stroke.
6. Adjustable ram guidance.
7. Automatic safety shield at front of press.
8. Adjustable hubbing speed.
9. Adjustable dwell time.
10. All documentation, signage and control panels in English language.
11. Service technicians with English language capability.
12. 460 volt, 3 phase, 690 Hz power.

3. Maximum daylight (tool space), piston down.

5. Active clamping surface, upper and lower press platen.
6. Table height above floor.
7. Closing, opening and pressing speeds.
8. Table ejector force, size (diam.) and stroke.
9. Driving power in kw.
10. Air Requirement @ pressure requirement.
11. Oil requirement.
12. Layout drawing.
13. Floor load.
14. Floor space requirements.
15. Press height
16. Press weight: with and without oil.

B. Business Information:
1. Past Performance history in the field of hubbing presses.
2. List of company's operating hubbing equipment inside the United States. Operating hubbing equipment outside of the United States may also be listed (identified)
