Description: Under a prior posting, the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) requested information from potential contractor(s) that believed they had the capabilities necessary to perform operations and maintenance (O&M) related tasks and research activities in support of the Center for Aircraft Structural Life Extension (CAStLE). The type of activities described in the prior posting included: maintenance engineering (review, assess, define, resolve technical deficiencies revealed in products and materials), structures teardown, non-destructive analysis, design analysis & development testing, full scale testing, certification and force management development, force management execution, training/other procedural support, and written reports/briefings. The prior posting indicated that the above activities could be required for a variety of structures (aircraft, ships, tanks, ground support equipment, bridges, and other varieties of aging structures).
The posting included a "Company Capabilities Worksheet" for which respondents were asked to respond to a list of questions. Question 4, within the worksheet, stated "4) Do you wish to have your company point of contact information released in a future posting to promote dissemination of information for subcontracting purposes? __Yes or __No". Those companies which responded "yes" to question four (4) are listed in the attachment to this posting.
