This project is located on the Sierra National Forest. The intent of this contract is to provide a safe and smooth surface for snowmobile use and use by other non-motorized winter recreation users (nordic skiers, snowshoers, snow campers, sled dog racers, etc.) There are six groomed trails approximately 54 miles one-way. The winter snowmobile season historically has consisted of approximately 20 weeks. There are nine trails to be groomed. These trails are in and near the Huntington Lake Recreation Area, at Lakeshore, CA off of Highway 168. More detailed information will be included in the solicitation. The approximate date of solicitation posting is December 14, 2005. This contract will consists of a base year with two option years.
