The intent of this contract is to provide final removal of unwanted vegetation (weeds) from seedling beds, tractor paths, and seedbed ends, and to place those weeds in designated piles at the ends of the seedling beds at the Bessey Nursery. There are approximately 94,700 linear feet (LF) that requires weeding each month from July 2002 through October 2002; and approximately 36,500 LF that also requires rouging, as needed, to remove diseased seedlings. The Contractor shall provide everything--including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision--necessary to complete the project, except for that which the contract clearly states is to be furnished by the Government. Before recruiting elsewhere and prior to assigning more than 65% of the contractor's own employees to work on this requirement the contractor shall give offers of employment for work to all displaced locals. Names of the displaced locals will be provided by the COR. This does not apply to supervisory positions; the contractor may use its own employees as supervisors. Note 1 is applicable.
