The intent of this contract is to secure services for the mastication of overstocked conifer trees, down woody material, and competing vegetation. The end result will be open conifer stands with reduced ladder fuels, with a residual stocking of trees over 10 inches DBH. In addition there will be scattered leave clumps and varied spacing and retention of large logs and large snags. The project is located on the Tahoe National Forest, Sierraville Ranger District. Project consist of approximately 205 acres. Estimated start date is September 4, 2007 with an estimated contract time of 219 days.
