The U.S. Department of Commerce/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/National Marine Fisheries Service intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with the American Fisheries Society to organize a symposium on Cooperative Fisheries Research and Management to be held at the AFS Annual Meeting in Anchorage, Alaska in September 2005. The objective is to summarize the progress that has been made in the co-management of fisheries resources and cooperative research efforts involving the fishing industry, fishing communities, state and Federal management agencies, North American tribal groups, and other constituents.SCOPE OF WORK
1. Establish a Steering Committee to oversee Symposium activities within one month following award of the contract.
2. Arrange for facilities and provide support services for the symposium at least one year prior to the date of the symposium.
3. Provide support services to the symposium as necessary up to the time the symposium is conducted.
4. Solicit and provide peer review for papers to be presented at the symposium within three months after award of the contract.
5. Publish the Proceedings of the Symposium within two years after the completion of the symposium.
